• This episode sees the first change to the main title sequence. Not only is Robert Patrick added, but the shots the badges are also new. The sequence also ends differently, replacing the figure falling into the handprint with an embryo eclipsed by the Earth and Mulder falling into an eye

Behind the Scenes

• This episode was dedicated to the memory of Jim Engh, a member of the production crew who died during the filming of the episode via electrocution in an accident that injured six other crew members.

• "Secretary" is misspelled in the closing credits as "Secrectary".
