Season Five of The Simpsons premiered on September 30, 1993.

The fifth season of The Simpsons is often heralded by fans, critics, and the show creators themselves as one of the series' best. Many of the episodes were written by or influenced by acclaimed talk show host Conan O'Brien. This season features classic plotlines such as Homer going to College and Space, along with the Simpsons relocating under the name, The Thompson's to a place called Cape Feare.
