Season Two of The Sentinel premiered on September 9, 1996.

The second season introduces a new aspect to the Sentinel legacy, one that proves to be much more of a challenge to very much worldly grounded detective than his five heightened senses. When he returns to the jungles of Peru in the search for a friend Jim Ellison is suddenly faced with the spiritual side of being a Sentinel.

In parallel Jim and Blair's friendship experiences an even more solid grounding, when the anthropologist turns down a once-in-a-lifetime chance to accompany his mentor on an excursion to Borneo in order to be able to stay and work with Jim in Cascade.

Other than that the second season continues to throw the two men and their friends of the Cascade police department into one exciting and action-packed adventure after the other, challenges which they can only face and overcome together, relying on the sentinel's heightened senses and his guides intuitive approach to dealing with them.
