The Office is a show on NBC. Based on the hit British series of the same name, The Office provides a mockumentary view into the Dunder Mifflin paper supply company. Modeled after the characters from the original series, the central voice of the series is that of Jim Halpert, who wryly comments to the camera about his coworkers while quietly pining for Pam Beesly, the receptionist. A constant source of entertainment for Jim is Dwight Schrute, a salesman whose delusions of authority are matched only by his ego-fueled gullibility. However, the driving source of all office drama is from their boss Michael Scott. Michael blithely spouts offensive comments while candidly commenting to the documentary crew about his effectiveness as an office manager. This invariably leads Michael to a disastrous path riddled with ill-conceived and executed plans, uncomfortable silences, and a hostile work environment.
