The $100,000 Pyramid is the fifth edition of the game show that started as the The $10,000 Pyramid in 1973.

The game play is identical to the CBS daytime edition, The $25,000 Pyramid, except the objective is to run the Pyramid in the quickest time. The three quickest times return after seven weeks of regular play to compete for $100,000.

The bonus cards in the game are not used during the championship play (the 21-21 bonus still applies). Whoever has the lowest money score in the regular game sits on the sideline on the next show and the other contestant waiting in the wings plays. The first player to successful run the Pyramid wins $100,000 plus all cash won previously.

This version returned in January 1991 with John Davidson as host. It was very much the same except in the main game there were categories "Double Trouble 1" and "Double Trouble 2". These categories consisted of two-word subjects and offered cash prizes for running them successfully.
