The $100,000 Pyramid is the seventh edition of the game show that started as the The $10,000 Pyramid in 1973.
It was very much the same as the previous $100,000 Pyramid that ran from 1985 to 1988 except in the main game there were categories "Double Trouble 1" and "Double Trouble 2". These categories consisted of two-word subjects and offered cash prizes for running them successfully. "Gamble For A Grand" and "Gamble For A Trip" offered said prizes to a contestant if they could get seven answers in 25 seconds. The Donny Osmond-hosted Pyramid would follow ten years later.
