Plot Overview

Paige drinks and won't answer the door when Kate knocks. Christine asks Brette why the police suspect her. Kate tells Ginny that Paige won't let her in. Then Paige comes out saying she is fine and when Kate leaves Paige tells Ginny she isn't going into town to her dress shop. An officer finds the cut wire. George tells Reena he is worried about Christine and Brette not getting along. Reena tells George it was just an accident and the police will prove that. Brette tells Christine she isn't jealous of her and doesn't think she would try to kill her but she won't tell the police that she didn't do it. Paige tells Ginny she doesn't care about the shop. Ginny tells her she isn't the only one with problems and working will help her. Then Paige cries when she asks Ginny if Ashley has been stopping by to see T.J. and asks Ginny to leave. Kate visits Ruby and tells her she was wrong about her and knows that she cares about Lurlene and the 2 ladies bond. Ginny tells Ashley that Paige is very angry and isn't handling things well. Then they talk about Gregory and Steven. Ginny leaves when T.J. walks in and Ashley tells him she has to talk to him about Justin. Rikki tells Christine it looks like his album will be a hit. Christine tells him that the police found an earring of hers on the catwalk and think she is a suspect. Rikki then gets mad at Christine for bothering Brette. Kate tells Lurlene of her visit to Ruby and Lurlene accuses the 2 of them of comparing notes on her and Joel. Lurlene then tells Kate that she thinks Joel is going to ask her to marry him. Ashley tells T.J. that Justin wants her to come back to work but T.J. tells her that Justin better not use her. Then Ashley gives T.J. Gregory's birth certificate listing them as the parents. A happy T.J. puts the birth certificate into the safe. Then Ginny tells T.J. that Paige isn't doing well and has been drinking a lot but he and Ashley should stay clear of her because she has to help herself. Kate tells Joel of her visits to Ruby and Lurlene and how she thinks Lurlene is ready to make a decision. Ruby tells Lurlene about the wedding they will have. A drinking Paige remembers T.J. saying "I love you" and screams that she hates him. Ruby rushes out and then Joel tells Lurlene of Kate's visit and both sing Kate's praises. George tells Christine of the rumor that she and Brette didn't like each other and warns her to be careful. Rikki tells Brette he told Christine not to bother her and reminds Brette that he is here if she needs him. Joel asks Lurlene if she is sure she is over the craziness and she tells him she was afraid. Joel tells Lurlene he thinks he would be good at taking care of the land and that she is the one he loves. George has pictures of the set of the Billy Joe Show with the chairs and the beams up above. Then he tears up a picture of the Wheeler family and burns it asking Grant how it feels to almost lose someone you love.
