Plot Overview

Following the events of "Commencement", Clark finds himself in his arctic Fortress of Solitude, where Jor-El intends to educate him in the history of Krypton so that he can defend Earth from the newly arrived threat of General Zod and his disciples. Chloe finds herself accidentally teleported along, and, in a dramatic exchange in a Yukon hospital, Clark reveals his true nature to her.

Meanwhile, as Smallville begins to deal with the aftermath of a second meteor shower, Lana, Mrs. Kent, and Lionel all find themselves profoundly affected. Warning of the 'Disciples of Zod', Lionel Luther shows Lana how she might deal with the mysterious Kryptonian strangers who arrived on the ship in "Commencement".

Finally, in an act of defiance against Jor-El, Clark vanquishes the Disciples to the Phantom Zone. For having broken his promise to return to continue his education "before the yellow sun has set," Jor-El strips Clark of his powers. Now, as a mortal, Clark promises Lana "no more secrets, no more lies," and prepares to settle down into a normal life.
