Notes

Music

  • Macho Man, by Village People: The song that plays during the fantasy sequence where Turk and Carla run a test to find out if their baby is gay is "Macho Man," one of the three major hits by 70s disco act The Village People. The song is fairly straight forward, about the positive virtues of jogging and exercise, but the chorus is all that most people recognize.
  • Still Fighting It, by Ben Folds: The song that plays over the final montage of the episode with J.D. confronting his brother, Carla realizing her weak ability of denial and Dr. Kelso putting the picture of his son on a table by his bed is "Still Fighting It" by Ben Folds, off his solo album Rocking the Suburbs. The song was written as a tribute to his song Louis.

Behind the Scenes

  • Contest: Although Turk and Carla initially named their future kids "George" and "Angie," they abandoned the names at the end of the episode after realizing that there are faults with those names as well. This was set-up for a contest held by NBC for Viewers to submit names for the baby, one of which would be picked at a later date.

Allusions and References

  • Greg House: Kelso's dig at Dr. Cox is a reference to the title character of House, M.D., Gregory House. House is a brilliant diagnostician who can solve most medical problems just by looking at the patient briefly, much like the doctor Sherlock Holmes admired as a child. Despite his gift, House is notoriously cantankerous and walks with a limp due to chronic leg pain.
Dr. Kelso: You're like House, but without the limp.
