The Roughnecks' top sergeant, Francis Brutto is an opinionated, borderline brutal taskmaster. He initially didn't like the replacement Roughnecks (Rico and Dizzy), and constantly referred to Infantry psychic Carl Jenkins in a derogatory fashion for quite some time, before he began to regard them as part of the squad.
Brutto was paralyzed during a battle with the Bugs and spent his last several appearances on the show confined to a wheelchair.
