From The TV IV

While the Starship Troopers movie seemed to studiously avoid treading even remotely close to the things depicted in author Robert Heinlein's novel Starship Troopers, the animated series Roughnecks: Starship Troopers Chronicles went in the complete other direction, doing at least some justice to the classic book.

Absorbing elements from both the movie (such as Diz Flores being a female love interest for protagonist Johnny Rico) and the book (powered armor suits, actually having a decent plot), the Roughneck cartoon never really took off and was put on "hiatus" before the end of the first season and in the middle of the Bug invasion of Earth, leaving viewers hanging as to how it would all end.
