  • After learning Norma's maiden name was Bates, Al realises her name is almost identical to Norman Bates, the antagonist in the 1960 film Psycho. It's of note that as of the episode's airing, Psycho IV: The Beginning had introduced Norma as the name of Norman's mother, as it would be used again in Bates Motel.

Quotes

  • Sam: Did you hear that? He wants to take what happened to me here and put it on the show.
Al: Yeah, yeah, I know. I heard, yeah.
Sam: Is that ethical? It can't be ethical.
Al: No, it's television.
