Porky Pig and Friends was a syndicated packaging of Warner Bros. theatrical cartoon short subjects primarily starring Porky Pig. Many of these cartoons were previously screened in 1964 on ABC's Saturday morning series The Porky Pig Show.
The cartoons were mainly the 1948-59 Merrie Melodies and Looney Tunes. In 1967, the Looney Tunes films from 1936 to 1943 that were redrawn and painted in color were added. Those cartoons were originally in black-and-white and had been shown under the distribution of Sunset Films and then Guild Films. In 1967, Guild was bought out by Seven Arts which then merged with Warner Bros., who had 75 black-and-white Looney Tunes films sent to Korea to be recrafted in color. In 1990, Warners began restoring the original black-and-white cartoons with their original titles and rendering them in color by computer.
The other syndicated packaging of Warner cartoons not shown on network TV was Bugs Bunny and Friends.
