Season Four of Pokémon premiered on August 3, 2000. It continues the adaptation of the Game Boy games Pokémon Gold and Silver, following Ash Ketchum's continuing journey through the Johto region. In the USA the season was given the unique title Pokémon: Johto League Champions.
