Plot Overview

The Movie

A mysterious alien saucer lands on Earth. Three curious children board the ship and it takes off to a planet on the other side of the sun. The aliens want to eat the children, but not before using them to summon the flying turtle Gamera. Of course, one of the children once again has a telepathic to Gamera and he arrives on the planet. There he is attacked by the alien monster Guiron. In one of most iconic images in Gamera movie history, Gamera swings on a bar to defeat Guiron. The day is saved once again by Gamera, the defender of children everywhere.

The Host Segments

  • Segment Two - Crow tells Joel and Tom Servo about the dream that he had. Crow and Tom Servo describe some of the more memorable dreams that they have had.
  • Segment Three - Joel tells the bots about some of his dreams.
  • Closing Segment - Joel and the bots perform a song about the Satellite of Love and promise viewers that there will be no more Gamera films.

Notes

  • The Gamera exchange in the opening , while funny, makes no sense because Joel already announced that they would be viewing Gamera vs. Guiron in the previous episode.
  • This episode is the first one in which no viewer calls are listened to.
  • Gamera vs. Guiron was produced by Sandy Frank, who was very upset over the treatment of his films on the show. As a result, he refused to renew the rights for their broadcast and the episodes featuring his movies could not be re-aired once the rights expired.
  • Gamera vs. Guiron is one of the KTMA episodes that was re-done in a later season (3x12 - Gamera vs. Guiron)
