Jason is one of the Others and presumably lives with them in their small community in the interior of the island.

Jason was part of the group of Others present on Alcatraz island during the time when Jack, Kate and Sawyer were held prisoner there. He worked as a security guard.
His neck was broken by a bound Sayid after Hurley drove the DHARMA bus onto the beach as a distraction.
