KTTU-TV began broadcasting on December 31, 1984 as call letters KDTU and as an independent station, In 1989, it changed its call letters to KTTU-TV, became an affiliate of UPN in 1995, with the slogan Find Yourself on UPN18. In 2006, KTTU-TV became a MyNetworkTV affiliate.
