Plot Overview
The episode opens with kids telling ghost stories around a fire, each one upping the other until Freakazoid frightens them all into going back to their cabins. Freakazoid leaves the campsite to fight some unknown evil. In the cabins, the children are still awake, talking about the horror of Sindbad getting another television show when their conversation leads to Candle Jack. Candle Jack is a creature who kidnaps children, but only if they say his name. Naturally, all of the children shout his name in terror. Cosgrove and Freakazoid go off to the Honey Harvest Festival before Freakazoid comes back to the camp to save the kids and Steph. Unfortunately, Freakazoid says Candle Jack's name and is tied up with the others. Candle Jack goes off to charter a bus and Freakazoid takes time out to break the fourth wall by praising the cast and crew. Cut to a Paul Harvey parody who narrates Freakazoid putting together a trap involving "steel and morter and pie" for Candle Jack. Trapping Candle Jack broke the spell, freed the children and once again Freakazoid got the girl. The segment ends with Paul Harvey in the cage.
Toby Danger is a parody of Jonny Quest, the introduction is a shot for shot parody of the original Jonny Quest television show's opening titles with various changes, except the music which is practically the same. In the parody, the evil Dr. Sin sabotages the world's largest semiconductor, bringing it to life so he can destroy Las Vegas. The family arrives on the scene in their flying island. Dr. Vernon Danger and "Dash" O'Pepper put together a machine to defeat Dr. Sin with, presuming that the last standing building in Las Vegas is what he'll attack next. The machine works, Dash hits the superconductor with a barrel and fights Sin and the world is saved once again.
The Lobe is a short piece in which the Lobe attempts to remove Freakazoid's brain using a brainwashed zombie Steph. He removes Freakazoid's scalp, only to be faced with a ticking time bomb.

Trivia
The Show
- Cosgrove Sidetrack: Cosgrove and Freakazoid go to the Honey Harvest Festival in Ackron.
- Emmitt Nervend Credit: Our Mascot
- Post Credits Quote: "We're very proud of that."
- Scream-O-Vision: This episode was presented in "Scream-O-Vision," a byproduct of Holland's vast tulip industry. Scream-O-Vision prompts the viewer when to scream.
- Toby Danger: This episode marks the first and last appearance of Toby Danger in the series.
Behind the Scenes
- Jonny Quest Reprisals: In Toby Danger, Toby and Dr. Vernon Danger are voiced by Scott Menville and Don Messick respectively. These two actors did the voices for Jonny Quest and Dr. Benton Quest in the 1987 Jonny Quest television show, which they are parodying in this episode. Similarly, Granville Van Dusen voiced Race Bannon in the same series, as well as the parody character "Dash" O'Pepper.
Allusions and References
- F Troop: Freakazoid references F Troop after being captured by Candle Jack, then there's a zip pan to a scene with a man wearing a dress. The scene where Agarn wears a dress in F Troop was an actual scene from episode 2x16, "The Loco Brothers."
- Paul Harvey: The man narrating the "Freakazoid had a plan" sequence is a reference to Paul Harvey, a talk-radio staple who reads stories from the newspaper with little or no bias.
Memorable Moments
- The children telling ghost stories around the campfire about wood.
- Freakazoid setting a trap for Candle Jack using a cage and some pie.
- The entire Toby Danger sequence, any time when Dash hits someone with a barrel.
Quotes
- Freakazoid: Well, I'd better be going. For somewhere, there are wrongs to right. There are foes to fight. There are little chunks of carrot in your teeth. I'd have that taken care of, it can lead to insanity.
- Girls: Look, it's Candle Jack! CANDLE JACK!
Candle Jack: [to camera] I'm going to need more rope.
- Freakazoid: Well, if it isn't--
Kids: No! Don't say it!
Freakazoid: Don't say what?
Steph: Don't say his name!
Freakazoid: You mean, don't say Candle Jack? [cut to Freakazoid being tied up on a stump]
Steph: Freakazoid, why did you say his name?
Freakazoid: 'Cause, I wanted to do one of those funny things like, have you ever watched F Troop where Agarn says "There's no way I'm wearing a dress, absolutely not. No dress!" and Forrest Tucker is like "Yeah, you're wearing that dress, you're gonna wear that dress!" And then they wipe and Agarn's wearing a dress.
Candle Jack: Oh, I love that bit.
- Toby Danger: But, I really am Mr. Peanut!
Casino Guard: You know the rules kid, no minors in the casino.
Toby Danger: I'll never get to meet a keno girl.
- "Dash" O'Pepper: Heads up, you heathen monkeys! [Dash throws a barrel]
Casino Patrons: Aieeeeee!
