Plot Overview
It's the night of the school dance and Cave Guy (aka Royce Mumfreed) is on a rampage. The only hope for the distressed teenagers... is on a different network. But there's still Freakazoid! While the police mount a search for Cave Guy, he terrorizes the dance, taking all of the students hostage. While in search of pizza rolls, Dexter catches a live report from the dance on television, prompting him to Freak Out--introducing our hero. He makes it half way to the dance before he gets stopped by Cosgrove. After having a mint, Freakazoid finally makes it to the dance where he proceeds to fight and generally annoy Cave Guy. The villain is eventually vanquished by a basketball goal to the face, Freakazoid gets the girl (so to speak) and he flips out at a creep with a watch named Jeepers. In an attempt to teach Val a lesson, he changes back to Dexter, who she promptly rejects until he changes back into Freakazoid.
After the Freakazoid and Friends song, the announcer brings us to Freakazoid's neverending quest for the perfect side kick, known otherwise as The Sidekick Chronicles. This episode features "Handman", a painted face on Freakazoid's right hand. The two face off against the Lobe, who thinks Handman is stupid. The two get in a fight, leading to an inexplicable explosion. The episode ends with Handman marrying Handgirl (Freakazoid's left hand) and going on a honeymoon, where Freakazoid hopes their marriage will be long and happy, unlike Footman and Footgirl (you can see where this is going).

Freakazoid & Friends Song Lyrics
It's time for Freakazoid and friends Where the insanity never ends Justice he defends You're sure to get the bends From Freakazoid and friends! When Dexter becomes Freakazoid, he shows his super stuff He battles Lobe and Booger Beast and villains who are tough Like Candle Jack and Cobra Queen Cave Guy can be rough There's Fanboy, Mo-Ron, Eye of Newt And that's about enough! It's Freakazoid and friends It's what your dentist recommends To patients who chew gum This show is really dumb It's Freakazoid and friends! Meet Dexter's girlfriend, Steff And his mentor, named MacStew Lord Bravery and Fanboy The Gnomes are quite a crew Cosgrove and the Huntsman Toby Danger too And don't forget; there's Freakazette A lovely shade of blue! It's Freakazoid and friends A show that no one comprehends Our longevity depends On our demographic trends It's totally freaky Dexter's geeky The plots are weaky We're up the creeky We've sprung a leaky Freakazoid and friends! Now our song ends!

Trivia
The Show
- Cosgrove Sidetrack: Cosgrove and Freakazoid go out for a mint (Make Mine Mint).
- Emmitt Nervend Credit: Weird Guy
- Post Credits Quote: "Wake up your folks and tell them you're hungry. Go!"
Behind the Scenes
- Dark Knight: The "one hero with enough heart" to stop Cave Guy is clearly Batman, but the announcer said he was on a different network. Though The New Batman Adventures was later shown on KidsWB in 1997, Batman: The Animated Series was originally broadcast in primetime on FOX.
- Freakawho?: All of the characters in the Freakazoid and Friends song eventually appear in the series with the exception of Freakazette, who has never been seen outside of the song.
Allusions and References
- Animaniacs: The song at the end of the episode is a parody of the Animaniacs theme song. In the song, Yakko and Wakko make cameo appearances and are also from a cartoon produced by Steven Spielberg.
Memorable Moments
- Jeepers turning beavers into gold.
- Freakazoid singing in the gym on top of Cave Guy's head.
- Freakazoid and Friends musical interlude.
Quotes
- Freakazoid: Steph, you fibbed to Dex about washing your hair. If this were an afterschool special, oh, you would pay a bittersweet price for your little deceit. Like getting big oily zits! Or eating off the same plate as David Lee Roth! EW! BLUH! GOH! EW! OH! IT'S THE PLATE... AND HES BEEN ON IT!! DON'T YOU UNDER... OW! THINK ABOUT IT! I'LL BE OVER TALKING TO JILL!
- Jeepers: hehehe... Do you want to see something strange and mystical?
Freakazoid: NO! Get out of here with that watch, lay off the poor beavers, will ya?! SHEEZE! You're a creep! Go away, we were having a good time until you showed up, Jeepers! UHHH! Go have some coffee with some cream or something! [Jeepers has begun crawling away at this point] Because I'll tell you something; *weeps* this is a happy place!
