Trivia

The Show

  • The Parents Television Council, a frequent Family Guy critic, named this episode the "Worst TV Show of the Week" largely on the scene involving Quagmire and Joe helping Peter perform in the bedroom, where they use pullets with lines attached to Peter on one end and controls manned by Quagmire and Joe. The Mr. Mom gag, where Peter accidentally cooks his own children, was also criticized for its graphic content. See more at the following link.

Allusions and References

  • The Lion King: Peter using a forklift to raise up a newborn lion cub on Pride Rock is much like mandrill Rafiki doing the same to newborn Simba (and later, an adult Simba's daughter Kiara) in the 1994 Disney movie.
  • Mr. Mom: Peter temporarily becoming the househusband in the wake of losing his job and doing none too well is pattered after both the 1983 movie starring Michael Keaton and Teri Garr, and the 2004 country music song by Lonestar.
