The Show

• The Parents Television Council named "Brian's a Bad Father" the Worst Show of the Week. In one of its most scathing criticisms of a single episode of any series, the group cited the show's child molestation jokes and graphic violence. In addition, other critics were upset over Peter continually being hailed as an an average, all-around good guy when he continually molests children or makes references to doing so.

Allusions and References

• The Love Boat: The ending to the 1977-1986 dramedy, starring Gavin McLeod and set aboard a cruise ship, is spoofed in a very violent way. In the parody "The Love Boat with Somali Pirates," pirates have hijacked the ship and are holding the crew at gunpoint; Stubing tries to stall the hijackers by telling them they have to convince a passenger she's still in love with her husband, but the leader grows impatient and – when Stubing tries to say, "Well, on the Love Boat … " he is brutally shot and killed.
