Plot Overview
A man picked up on a simple shoplifting charge raises Friday and McCarren's suspicions due to his car being registered to a councilman's daughter who has been missing for about a year. The suspect gives them a false name, that of a man also reported missing. Before they can ask him about his connection with the missing people, he commits suicide. Further investigation leads them to his remote cabin, where human remains are found, as well as videotapes of him with other people who have been reported missing. Friday notices that the camera moved during one of the tapes they viewed, leading him to suspect that the killer had an accomplice. Soon, they discover more victims over a huge radius, and now they must find the accomplice.
