Dexter has an ensemble cast mainly portraying the staff of Miami Metro Police Department and their close ones. Further more, each season includes additional cast, mostly portraying characters involved in the seasonal investigations: persecutors, suspects, witnesses, and victims, as well as their families. This list include every character with at least 2 credited appearances.

Miami Metro Police Department

While Dexter mainly features the Homicide division of the MMPD, the series have also featured other divisions, including Narcotics, Vice, and Internal Affairs.
