Tournament Eight of Celebrity Poker Showdown takes the show from its traditional home at the Palms Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and moves it to Harrah's Casino in New Orleans. All of the charities benefited are related to Hurricane Katrina which struck New Orleans in August 2005.
Tournament Eight also saw the departure of analyst Phil Gordon. Phil was replaced with another of poker's famous Phil's, Phil Hellmuth.
