Plot Overview

Steve finds himself accused of stealing an envelope from a stolen car, an envelope containing a huge sum of money and a cassette, but the envelope's true owner doesn't care about the money so much as the cassette--he's a mobster, and the cassette is a recording of him trying to bribe a government official. When the mobster finally figures out that Steve doesn't have the incriminating recording, he has one of his men follow the cop around, hoping he will lead him to the pair of car thieves who really do have the envelope. Jon has his hands full with a bounty hunter from Texas, who oversteps the law in his pursuit of a vicious con artist who preys on rich women. Jon also finds himself in a whirlwind romance with a country singing star after he helps fix her car, but can't seem to cash in on the free concert tickets she gave him. Ponch is busy testifying in a big trial, and he confounds Getraer with his unusual system of filing documents.
