Plot Overview
During a tour of a Spanish history museum, the body of Don Pablo Ortega, one of California's most powerful men, is found as part of an exhibit with a sword stuck firmly in his chest. Burke uncovers a possible motive (one in which even the man's own mother could lay claim) when he learns that Don Pablo and his thuggish business partner were planning on tearing down the museum, which was one of the last remaining sections of early California, to build apartments.
