Blankety Blanks was a game show airing for two months in 1975 on ABC.
Two teams, each of a celebrity and a civilian, compete. Host Bill Cullen draws a card from a revolving carousel and places it in a reader. It randomly selects a player and a dollar amount. That player selects one of six clues to be shown in a word puzzle. Play continues until the puzzle is solved, awarding that player the money. The player can double the money by solving a "Blankety Blank," a riddle with the answer--usually a terrible pun--left blank.
The title is not to be confused with Blankety Blank, the Australian and British versions of Match Game.
