Plot Overview

Edward Nygma, an employee in a large manufacturing company creates a board game about a mythical creature called the Minotaur. This board game will reap millions for him and the company that he works for. However, his boss, Daniel Mockridge, decides to fire Nygma and pocket the profits from his boar dgame. Nygma will not stand for this outrage. Within two years, changes his persona and adopts a new identity as the Riddler, a criminal genius. He plans to take his revenge on Mockridge, using his creation of the Minotaur game. The only obstacle to his plan is Batman and Robin. He must do away with them before he can do away with Mockridge.

Notes

This episode, which introduces the Riddler, is one of a number of episodes that shows the origin of how the criminals came to become criminals. In this episode, nobody really wins. Batman and Robin may have prevented the Riddler from killing Mockridge, but the Riddler escapes. The Riddler did not take his revenge on Mockridge (not in the way that he wanted) and Mockridge, though he did reap millions from the sale of the Minotaur game, will not be enjoying it or be sleeping at night for however many. His experience at nearly getting killed has him staying up, checking room after room with a twelve gauge shotgun, always in fear that the Riddler would return to get him.
