Plot Overview

Bill told Missy to hurry and meet him in the park near the hotel when she phoned him that Danny intends to whisk her away tomorrow. Lenore imparted to Helen that although there had never been skyrockets going off with her and Bill, she sensed something had been wrong tonight. Lenore declined to consider it when Helen suggested they wait until June to marry so Bill can get over his butterflies. Liz voiced objections while blocking the doorway until Bill grabbed her by the shoulders and firmly moved her aside. Liz trembled with terror, clapping her hands to her ears, as Danny's threats reverberated in her head. Danny gamely protested his innocence when Madge reminded he'd faked Missy out back in Chicago, then finally admitted his schemes when she threatened to spill the beans to Missy. Madge became fearful when he intimated there was another way besides a payoff to keep her shut up. Missy jumped out of the sere, cold wind into Bill's car and held onto him for dear life. She told him about the gun, and of how Danny had been frightened of a man named Sam. Bill said they'd go back to the hotel and settle the score with Danny once and for all. Liz took some deep breaths before leaving Bill a note, donned some dark glasses, and leaving.
