Plot Overview
Shelley Elliott of Maryland works long hours as a Special Agent for the Inspector General in Washington, DC while her husband Carl works as a doorman at a hotel. She and her husband share a strong work ethic which they instill in their two children, 15-year-old Justine and 11-year-old Javier. The kids have daily chores, spend a lot of time studying, have restricted TV privileges and are not allowed to have allowances or cell phones.
Shelley swaps lives with stay-at-home mom Sue Burkhalter of Mississippi, who does all the cooking and cleaning in the house for her family. Sue and her husband, Jeff believe in indulging their two daughters: 21-year-old Nancy and 18-year-old Laura-Beth, who have no chores or responsiblities. Nancy frequently borrows Jeff's credit cards to go on shopping sprees while Laura-Beth parties all hours, gets up whenever she wants and home-schools herself online if she feels like it.
