Plot Overview

Kim Beckman-Heskett from Colorado works as one of three female vice-presidents in her company. While Kim works, her former preacher husband, Randall stays at home to handle all the household chores. Randall is a self-professed modern Renaissance man. Kim and Randall are devout Christians, but disagree with the literal interpretations of the Bible. Although he is still a man of faith, Randall is skeptical of "bible thumpers". Kim's 12-year-old daughter, Allison and 12-year-old stepddaughter, Hannah do not do any chores.

Kim swaps lives with Lee-Ann Childs from Rhode Island. Lee-Ann and her husband, Christopher are born-again Christians who are devoted to God. Christopher controls the household rules and enforces discipline within his children: 18-year-old Laurie & Chrissy, 16-year-old Coburn, 12-year-old Columbia, 10-year-old Daisy and 2-year-old Cambria. The kids are expected to clean the house before Christopher comes home from work. The kids are not allowed to date and the two older girls pray for God to send them a husband when the time is right.
