WGN America (previously known as WGN-TV, WGN, WGN Superstation and Superstation WGN) is a superstation based in Chicago, IL. It started in 1978 when WGN-TV started to simulcast its signal nationally. In 1990 the station began different feeds for the national superstation and the local broadcast network. In 1995, WGN became a national charter default WB affiliate for viewers without a WB network affiliate. It lasted until 2000, when it was replaced with The WB 100+ Station Group. In 2006, when The CW took to the air, it replaced The WB 100+ Station Group with The CW Plus.
