WGN America (previously known WGN-TV, WGN, WGN Superstation and Superstation WGN) is a superstation based in Chicago, IL. It started in 1978 when WGN-TV started to simulcast its signal nationally. In 1990 the station began different feeds for the national superstation and the local broadcast network.
