WFSB is the CBS affiliate serving the Hartford/New Haven, Connecticut television market. The station broadcasts on channel 3 and is owned by Meredith Corporation, sale pending to Gray Television.
WFSB signed on the air as WTIC-TV on September 23, 1957 and as an independent television station. In 1958, the station switched to CBS where it remains to this day. In 1974, the callsign was changed to the current WFSB (the WTIC-TV call letters would later end up on the Fox affiliate in the market).
