WBRC is the call sign for the Fox affiliate in Birmingham, Alabama. It broadcasts on digital channel 29, displayed on tuners under its analog position, channel 6.
WBRC signed on in 1949 with NBC as its network, then CBS in 1954. ABC was its secondary to 1961 then as its primary to 1996. At that time, Fox was winding down on its acquisition of VHF stations, and WBRC was among the stations to switch to Fox. That switch had to wait until 1996 as WBRC was still under contract with ABC. WBRC operates a translator, W29AO, which beams to Anniston, some 90 miles east of Birmingham.
