Plot Overview
1970: Peter Carlin spots a UFO whilst out with his sister, Leila and a friend, he proceeds to film the incident, but they are spotted by aliens. They make a run for it, but Leila and the friend get shot, Peter however escapes with the cine film. The film is developed and used as evidence for Col. Ed Straker to ask for money to set up a defence organisation, Straker suspects further attacks will occur and thinks Earth should be ready.
1980: Straker is granted the funds, and now ten years later the organisation (SHADO) is operational. After a fire at a secret location developing specialist equipment for SHADO, Straker sends Col. Freeman to recover important equipment that was stored before the fire broke out, but on the way back the aircraft carrying the equipment is attacked by a UFO.
