From The TV IV

UFO is a sci-fi adventure program that was produced by Gerry Anderson's Century 21 production company. The year is 1980 and sightings of UFO's are becoming more and more commonplace, when people are disappearing and their bodies are turning up with organs removed, it is assumed that the aliens are abducting humans for transplanting purposes. An organization is set up to intercept UFO's and prevent them from reaching Earth. The organization - SHADO - Supreme Headquarters Alien Defence Organisation, is the brainchild of Commander Ed Straker, who would take overall command of all operations with a high tech arsenal of machines and weaponry at his disposal.
