Tsubasa Chronicle — Season Two

The Three Badges is the second episode of the second season of Tsubasa Chronicle, and the twenty-eighth episode overall. Syaoran and friends compete in the Dragonfly race, despite the presence of a dangerous saboteur.

Plot Overview

A lottery is held to determine pole position in the final race, and of course, Sakura pulls the winning ball on the first turn.

That night, Tomoyo holds a special banquet for all of the finalists. Syaoran introduces himself to that world's Ryuoh, who takes a liking to him. When the group gathers on the balcony, they are attacked by Shogo's men. Syaoran fends off the attackers, and then the group is confronted by Shogo, Nokoru, Suoh, and Akira. They lead Sakura and friends to meet with Tomoyo.

Tomoyo was worried that one of Syaoran's group might have been the culprit behind the sabotage during the race, since there is no record of any of them. But Syaoran's fight with the others has them believing that he would never try such a dirty trick, so Tomoyo just warns them to be careful. She also wants to make a cute outfit for Sakura.

Syaoran visits Ryuoh, and ends up borrowing a radio receiver from him. Sakura receives her new outfit from Tomoyo, who admits that they couldn't find any leads on the saboteur.

The race begins. The objective is to gather a badge from each of three checkpoints. Fai and Kurogane take an early lead, reaching the first checkpoint and each snagging a badge. Syaoran and Sakura are further back, and when they approach the checkpoint, it collapses. Despite this, both of them are able to catch a badge.

Fai and Kurogane fall a bit behind before the second checkpoint, a transparent tube that spirals and flexes. When Fai passes through, the tube constricts, destroying his Dragonfly aircraft and knocking him out of the race. Tomoyo has them shut down the tube, and the rest of the racers bypass it.

Syaoran and Ryuoh gun their vehicles into a canyon, and all seems well until an explosion causes the walls to collapse. Syaoran swings close to protect Ryuoh, and the two collide.

• Syaoran, Sakura, Fai, and Kurogane all compete in the Dragonfly race. Fai is knocked out of the race at the second checkpoint. Two other racers also drop out.

• Syaoran collides with Ryuoh during the race, possibly causing an explosion.
