Plot Overview

Mokona drops the group in the middle of the ocean, but luckily a ship called the Lagosta passes by and picks them up. The captain is Tanbaru, who resembles the Ryoshi from Koryo Country, and he quickly puts the newcomers to work. Syaoran is introduced to the young boy who mans the engines, whose name is Fujitaka.

Syaoran befriends the boy and remembers his father while they work together. Elsewhere, Kurogane takes charge of the sailors on the deck, and Sakura learns from Mokona how to prepare sushi. That night Mokona says that it does not sense a feather, but will stay in that world because it can sense that Syaoran wants to spend more time with Fujitaka.

That night, the ship encounters a bad storm. When they run to the deck to talk with the captain, Fujitaka and Syaoran are washed overboard and away from the ship. A strange laughter is heard in the distance.

The next morning Syaoran and Fujitaka awaken on the shores of a distant island. They set out exploring it in the hopes they can find some way to contact the ship. Meanwhile, Tanbaru refuses to travel to the island, due to an edict from his ancestors that he must never set foot there. Sakura, Kurogane, Fai, and Mokona set off for the island on their own.

Syaoran and Fujitaka come across some ruins that point the way to a cave that will get them across the island quickly, but there are supernatural things about it. However, once they arrive at the cave, they realize that winds blowing through the caverns were the cause of the strange laughter. Also, strong winds that occasionally kick up make it impossible to enter the cave at those points, so the two boys must hurry. They run through and just barely make it out before the winds barrel into the cave.

The captain sees them on the shore. However, the boat with the others is attacked by a sea serpent — which Kurogane quickly dispatches with his sword. The group reunites and heads to the boat, and it's time for them to go. Just before Mokona sucks them all away, Fujitaka shouts to Syaoran that he wants to become an archeologist.
