Happenings

Characters

  • The Captain: Jack Harkness was an American volunteer pilot in the RAF during WWII. When he died in battle, the time traveler who would become Torchwood's Captain Jack Harkness took over his identity.

Referbacks

  • 1x10 - Out of Time: When a plane with three people from 1953 was transported through time into the present, Owen fell in love with the pilot, Diane, but in the end she left him and flew back into the Rift.
Ianto: This is about Diane, isn't it? When will you accept that she chose to leave you?
  • 1x04 - Cyberwoman: Ianto had hidden his girlfriend Lisa, who had been changed halfway into a Cyberman, in the Torchwood basement. She went onto a murderous rampage and was eventually killed.
Owen: Why was your Cyber-girlfriend stuck around the course, not that she had much choice, wired up in the cellar.
  • Doctor Who - 27x13 - The Parting of the Ways: When Rose absorbed the power of the Time Vortex, she brought Jack back to life, but neither she nor the Doctor seemed to be aware of this and they left him behind during the chaos of the Doctor's regeneration.
Jack: Someone saved my life, brought me back from death.

Trivia

The Show

  • Anachronism: Bilis's Polaroid Land Camera, the first instant camera, wasn't produced until 1948. However, given Bilis's special ability, this is probably an intentional anachronism and not a goof.
