Too Close for Comfort is a sitcom that aired on ABC for three seasons and in first-run syndication for three seasons. The show was renamed The Ted Knight Show for its sixth season, but reverted to its original title when the sixth-season episodes were added to the Too Close for Comfort syndicated rerun package after the show ended production due to the death of series star Ted Knight on August 26, 1986.
The series was based on the UK program Keep It in the Family.
