Behind the Scenes
- This episode was actually directed by Gilbert Cates. He and writer Harlan Ellison did not get along very well and the Directors Guild decided to throw him from the set and ban him from the show. Cates was out of town when it came time to complete the segment on production schedule, so certain decisions had to be made. Cates didn't like that they were made without his participation and wrote a letter to the president of CBS about it and took the Alan Smithee pseudonym.
- Ellison wrote the two main characters with specifically with Turman and Kaye in mind.
