Behind the Scenes
- Harlan was consulted about the episode and wanted it exactly as he wrote it, despite production issues preventing that. When box Lancaster had was meant to be from a scene in which he dug it up. It was later suggested to have him retrieve it from a safety deposit box at the bank, but had to be dropped due to the scheduling and budget, which pissed off Ellison. He also didn't like that the beauty parlour was a replacement setting in which it was a dope emporium. Director Paul Lynch believed the script was written a long time earlier and that it dated it.
- The script for this episode was adapted in the first issue of Now Comics Twilight Zone series and while drawing on elements from the episode, did retain everything from Ellison's script.
