The TV IV talk:IVy Awards/Archive1
Foreign shows
I have a question about what seasons of British shows qualify for nomination. The rules state that it must have aired in the US during the time period so does this mean that Doctor Who/Season Twenty-Seven not Season Twenty-Eight is elligible and likewise Spooks/Season Three not Season Four?
Qualification clarification
Also another question about amount of episodes that must have aired during the time window. Deadwood/Season Two aired two episodes during the window, does that qualify the show/actors for general awards or does it need to have aired more than half a season within the window? Oh and for individual episode awards it doesn't matter when the rest of the season aired right (ie. I can nominate the first episode of Rescue Me/Season Three or the previously mentioned two Deadwood episodes but not next week's The Sopronos/Season Six finale)?--The-jam 10:43, 2 June 2006 (EDT)
- On foreign shows: Correct. The episodes are based on US airdate, not international airdate. (That was a topic of much discussion, but since - as of right now - the majority of voters are in the US, that's how it has to be this year.) And, yes, you're absolutely right. Episode one of Season Three of Rescue Me is eligible, the final two episodes of Deadwood are eligible, but the final episode of The Sopranos is not, although every episode of Season Six prior to that one are. That's how the Emmys do it, and that's what we're sticking with. But are you sure about Deadwood? The page says the first airdates of those final two episodes are still before the June 1, 2005 cutoff. JCaesar 23:25, 2 June 2006 (EDT)
Best Cancellation
I think if we have a Worst Cancellation category, it's only fair to have a Best Cancellation category, if only so that we can nominate Joey.
