The TV IV:Proposals/Featured Article

Similar to the featured show, except the emphasis here is highlighting a superb article on the TV IV. This could be a show page, an character page, a network page, or any other page that is well constructed with a lot of information. Discouraged are front-pages of shows, because it could be confused with Featured Show, but these probably wouldn't be taken out of consideration either. I will start off this proposal with a couple of examples:

• Are we even doing a featured article? I figured that sort of thing had to be sanctioned by people who can edit the main page. Either way, all of the text is directly copy and pasted from the IFC Overview written in the NCTA guidebook. • Well part of the reason why some Featured Shows have been rejected in the past is because the excuse was given that the goal of that is to highlight a current show (that's the reason Buffy was rejected, for example). They told me that we can also do a featured article, that highlights well written articles. So as far as I'm concerned it has already been sanctioned; if they take it back now I'll be very disappointed. We tried a Featured Article proposal in the past. No one made any prominent, significant votes to it, so it was put on the backburner and will probably be revived when there's more interest in such a thing. This proposal won't be "taken back," per se, but it will need a significant amount of contributions in order for it to survive in its proper environment, and I don't think we have enough of an established userbase or a significant amount of worthy articles yet to do so. --Wizardryo|✎ 01:33, 25 Nov 2005 (EST)

That article is dated for a single week. There is no reason that we need to have a featured article as often as wikipedia does. We can have a featured article for as long as we want. So for that we don't need a "significant amount of worthy articles," we need exactly 1. --MateoP 02:10, 25 Nov 2005 (EST)
