The Old Man and the Lisa is the twenty-first episode of the eighth season of The Simpsons, and the one-hundred and seventy-fourth episode overall.

Plot Overview

Mr.Burns finds out that he is nearly broke.He finds out when going through his various Stock Investments.His Lawyers/Yesmen,and even Smithers has been keeping this fact from him.Even worst with nearly all of his saving gone,Burns is forced to move from his Mansion.He moves in with Smithers.Life as a broke Man is difficult for him.He even loses the Nuclear Power Plant.Lenny is placed in charge of the Plant.Soon enough,Burns cannot take it anymore.He desperately wants his wealth,and the Power Plant back.He seeks out the one person that he thinks would help him achieve this...Lisa.Lisa of course would never help Burns get back his wealth.However,after repeated pleases,Lisa relluctantly gives in,but on the condition that Burns do good deeds.Burns agrees.Of course this easier said,than done.Burns,and Lisa go about recycling various products.Lisa tells Burns about the plastic can holders,that they must cut the ends,or the fish would tangled in them.Both Lisa,and Burns make tremendous progress in recycling.So much so that,Burns through his own wheeling,and dealing is able to achieve his wealth again.He wants to share his profits with Lisa,but having learned how Burns had accumulated his wealth using Lisa's advice about the plastic can holders,Lisa wants no part of it.

This episode is one of the few(thus far) of Mr.Burns losing his wealth,and before the episodes end,gain it back.
