- The Departed: The title and much of the episode's A plot featuring Bart is a reference to the 2006 film, The Departed, directed by Martin Scorsese. The film, which won the top honor at the 2007 Academy Awards, is about two moles: one in a gang led by Jack Nicholson and another in the police force tasked to shut the gang down. The film itself is a remake of a Chinese action film called Internal Affairs.
