Marjorie "Marge" Simpson (née Bouvier) is the mother of the Simpson family on The Simpsons and is voiced by Julie Kavner. Much like her husband, Marge's personality is largely based on the classic American mother and housewife. She's a far more timid and restrained person to balance out Homer's oafishness. Despite this personality quirk, her most distinguishing feature is her improbably high blue beehive haircut.
