Plot Overview

Feeling the urge to go out and connect with the people they serve, Ryker partners with Mike for patrol duty in a neighborhood that's special to him, not just because he started his career there as a patrolman, but because he grew up there as well. The rookie immediately senses from the unusual calmness of the neighborhood that a protection racket is operating there, but when they mention it to the residents, no one is willing to talk about it, even after a clothing store owner is brutally beaten. Ryker continues to persuade the residents of the neighborhood to stand up to the thugs, while dealing with the mother of one of them, an old girlfriend who's trapped in a marriage where she's abused and wants to rekindle the romance they once had.
