The Imaginarium was an international film and TV production company based in South Africa and established in 1998 by its founders Chris Roland and Izidore Codron. The company was a part of a group of companies owned by Roland and Codron consisting of The Imaginarium (film & TV production), South African Film Finance Corporation (financing and international coproduction structures), and Basecamp Logistics (unit equipment rentals). The group was amicably disbanded at the end of 2006. Roland went on to launch ZenHQ, a production company based in Cape Town, and manages assets owned by the group. The group participated in the production of such films as Hotel Rwanda (winner of Toronto People's Choice, and nominated for Oscar and Golden Globe), Man to Man, Stander, The Bonesnatcher, Story Of An African Farm, Three Needles, and the TV series Charlie Jade.
